Hiroshi Tanahashi returned to his local Gifu today to celebrate his 10th anniversary as a wrestler but wasn't able to perform because of his continuing recovery from an eye injury. The previous IWGP Heavyweight Champion made a special appearance after intermission, showing off his upper body and speaking to fans, promising to come back as soon as he is over his injury. The emphasis in the ring today was on Makabe vs. Nakamura, who have battled each other in tags throughout the tour with little between them, 5-5 so far. The biggest match so far today saw Makabe unite with Hirooki Goto against CHAOS' Nakamura & Yano and a bloody Makabe pin former friend turned betrayer, Yano. Makabe said after the match that his series with Nakamura would be concluded at Kobe when he defeats the CHAOS leader as he did in the G1 final.
