The "series showdown" between G1 Climax winner, Togi Makabe, and G1 Climax runner-up, Shinsuke Nakamura, has seen them do battle on every show this tour in the form of various tag matches. Up until the previous two shows they were deadlocked but Makabe has pulled slightly ahead by pinning CHAOS' top natives not named Nakamura, Yano and Iizuka. Today he pinned Iizuka in an all-out war between the Sekigun/GBH alliance and CHAOS, ensuring he has a slight edge over Nakamura going into tomorrow's decision match for the vacant IWGP Heavyweight Title. So which will it be - will Nakamura, seemingly more dangerous than ever in his career, become a 3-time champion or will Makabe complete his climb from the very bottom and capture the belt for the first time?
